Playing Bejeweled® on your phone

1. In the Applications menu, find and launch Bejeweled.
2. The EA Mobile and Bejeweled splash screens appear first, followed by the Bejeweled main menu.
3. Once the game loads, the Main menu appears and displays the following options:


Classic - Start a game in Classic mode.

Action - Start a game in Action mode.

Multiplayer - Start a multiplayer game.

Highlights - Open the Highlights screen and view the top scores for Classic, Action and Multiplayer games. Press # to reset the top scores.

Options - Open the Options menu. Use the D-Pad or "2" or "8" to cursor up and down through the list. Highlight one of these options and press right softkey "Select" or OK on the D-Pad to change its value:


• Sound - Turn in-game sound on/off.
• Vibration - Turn game vibration on/off.
• Multiplayer Setup - Access the multiplayer setup screens.
• Reset Tutorials - Show tutorials before the next game begins.



4. After you have selected "Classic" or "Action" from the Main menu, a tutorial explains the different play modes. The BASIC AIM OF THE GAME is to select any two adjacent gems and swap their positions to create rows or columns of 3 or more identical gems of the same color (also called "sets"). As gems are cleared, new ones fall from the top of the screen to fill the empty spaces. This in turn may create new sets and generate more points for the player. These events, or Combos, are called 'Cascades'.

• CLASSIC - Play until no more rows or columns of gems are possible. Scoring points expands the Progress Bar at the bottom of the screen. When the bar reaches the far right side of the screen, you receive a special point bonus, and move on to the next level.
• ACTION - Race against time. The game ends when the Progress Bar at the bottom runs out. Each successful line of gems adds to the bar. Fill up the Progress Bar to move on to the next level.

Multiplayer Options

1. Select Multiplayer from the Bejeweled Main Menu, press any number on the keypad to access the Multiplayer Setup menu.


2. You can also access the Multiplayer Setup menu by selecting it in the Options menu. You will be presented with two options:


• New User: Sign up to choose a unique username and password combination.
• Sign In: Already signed up? Simply enter your account information and get connected.
Usernames must contain 4-12 alphanumeric characters.
Passwords must contain 4-8 alphanumeric characters.


3. The Matchmaking screen appears. Bejeweled allows you to select an opponent by 2 different criteria:

• Opponent Name - Allows you to challenge a specific player.
• Opponent Skill - Allows you to challenge any player of a specific skill level. Skill levels are represented by the following gems:
• Diamond
• Sapphire
• Ruby
• Topaz
• Zircon

Setting either the Opponent Name or Opponent Skill to "ANY" will challenge the first available player.

In Multiplayer mode, your opponent's grid displays as a mini-grid at the bottom right corner of your screen. You will be able to see your opponent's moves in real-time. Double progress bars - one for you, and one for your opponent -display at the bottom of your grid, and indicate both your score and your opponent's score. The first to fill the progress bar wins the match.

In Multiplayer mode, you can capture and launch a special attack bombs. A gem is highlighted by a circle; if you capture that gem, you will be awarded one of these four special attacks:

• Crazy Pad: Reverses controls on your opponent's D-Pad. Right becomes left, left becomes right, up becomes down, and down becomes up.
• Cave-In: Removes all gems from the board, and a new grid is generated.
• Holes: Empty Spaces are left in the grid after a match is cleared, gems do not fall in empty areas.
• Zero Gravity: New gems do not fall into place after a match is cleared. Gems already on the grid fall normally in empty areas.

A bomb icon appears in the progress bar to indicate that your or your opponent has the ability to attack. To launch your bomb against your adversary, press number "7" on your keypad. If you have scored more points than your opponent at the end of the game, you win. It is also possible to tie in a multiplayer match.

Game Controls

Move the cursor with the (2, 4, 6, 8) keys.

Select a highlighted gem by pressing the ( 5 )key.

Select an adjacent gem with the (2, 4, 6, 8) keys. The two gems swap positions.

In Multiplayer games, press the ( 7 ) key to launch a captured Bomb at your opponent.

You can also use the D-pad instead of the number keys. The center of the D-Pad acts as the (5) key.
